Location. The Songbird Prairie Bed and Breakfast is located in Valparaiso, Ind., in a country setting designated as a Certified Wildlife Habitat. Norman Olson Lake and Lake Louise are less than two miles from the bed and breakfast. The Star Plaza Theatre, which hosts comedy acts, concerts and other miscellaneous shows, is approximately nine miles away. The Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, positioned on the shores of Lake Michigan, is 13 miles from the property.
Features. This Federal Style home is set on six wooded acres surrounded by woodland gardens and trails with sheaves of prairie grass and wild rose. Three course complimentary breakfasts are served daily in the sunroom, which overlooks the woods. Bottled water, coffee, tea and snacks are available throughout the day. Complimentary wireless Internet access is provided. Pets are not allowed at this property.
Guestrooms. The Songbird Prairie Bed and Breakfast offers songbird themed guestrooms with classic Ethan Allen furnishings and fireplaces. All accommodations include private bathrooms with two person jetted tubs, fine Italian towels and specialty soaps. Bathrobes and slippers are provided. Select rooms feature four poster or sleigh beds.
Expert Tip. The Taltree Arboretum and Gardens, located three miles from the bed and breakfast, features Green Herons, bobolinks, bluebirds, grasshopper sparrows and migrating warblers on 360 acres of woodlands, savannas, wetlands and prairies.
